Rain is a good thing, as most farmers will say during a drought. Photographers say something similar about overcast skies, because that filtered sunlight can make for some truly dreamy photos.
The Kinjerski family was blessed with such a day, but we did maneuver around just a few sprinkles of rain. Honestly, you wouldn’t even know it had been raining, because it looked sunny out in the end.
This family is so incredibly wonderful, and I was so happy to take some new photos for them. Jackie and I planned out a downtown Green Bay feel for the shoot, and she did an awesome job styling her family. I shouldn’t have been surprised, as Jackie runs an amazing photography business, Ambient Photography. I am obsessed with their outfits and how well it all fit in with the feel of the shoot.
Jackie and I initially connected on the basketball court sidelines during a Kewaunee Boys Basketball Game almost four years ago. I was working for the Kewaunee County Star-News, and she was working for a local family capturing the game. It was an instant connection, and Jackie has been supportive of my every move since we met. She helped me get my head on straight with my business, and I am so proud of how far she has come with hers. So, it was even more special for us to take on this shoot together!
Family photos are so important to take. They will always be there for you to remember who you were at that point in your life, and they will be wonderful heirlooms for your children and grandchildren and great grandchildren to cherish. There is nothing more fun and special than to look through old photos of parents and grandparents. I personally always find they are unique and interesting to learn about during their younger years.
I’m so happy I was able to do that for this wonderful family.
